Grannies make a difference in the world

For eight years, the Saugeen Grannies have raised funds for the Stephen Lewis Foundation.

Selling donated jewelery, the Grannies have raised over $85,000 from their main location on High Street in Southampton in front of Chantry Breezes B&B during Thursday Cruisers nights.

The Grannies have decided however that this is their last year for jewelery sales and, therefore, everything is 50 per cent off every Thursday until the end of summer.

On August 11th at the Port Elgin Library, the Grannies are hosting something new – “Off the Wall Art Sale” featuring paintings, prints, tapestries and more.  A second art sale will be held on August 18th at St. Paul’s Anglican Church in Southampton from 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

All proceeds go to support the grandmothers in sub-Sahara Africa who are raising their AIDS-orphaned grandchildren.
