The owners of Holiday Inn Express & Suites have provided a big boost to the Lamont Sports Park Illuminating Dreams Fundraising Campaign by donating $50,000.  That is the sixth Diamond Donation to the campaign, and ninth $50,000+ gift announced so far.

“We are so fortunate to have a company like Holiday Inn establish themselves in our community”, says Vice-Deputy Mayor and Campaign Co-Chair Mike Myatt. “Their contribution to the Lamont Sports Park will allow Saugeen Shores to hold major ball tournaments.  Now those ball players have a place to play as well as another place to stay.”

“We are thrilled to be a small part of the Lamont Sports Park,” says Larry Dunn of Summerside Hospitality, the hotel’s ownership group. “Through the vision of Town of Saugeen Shores Council, staff, and many volunteers the community is soon to open a world-class sports facility.  Many thanks to all involved, including all the other sponsors.”

The Grand Slam Diamond Donation entitles the group to a branded Holiday Inn Express Way at the park.  They will also receive recognition at the Park’s Opening Ceremony in 2023, and mention on the Park’s lifetime donation board.

The fundraising campaign seeks to raise monies for the construction of the Lamont Sports Park Phase 2.  This includes two youth baseball diamonds, and an accessible playground. The new construction will add to the four baseball diamonds built in Phase 1.
