Hospital Foundation thanks the community for generosity for CT Scanner

When it comes to health care support, few communities can out-care or out-donate Saugeen Shores.

In only 10 short months, the community of Saugeen Shores raised, through corporate, business and individual donations and a Gran Fondo cycling event, some three million dollars to acquire a CT scanner for its local Saugeen Memorial Hospital.

In appreciation, the Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation hosted a community BBQ last Thursday, September 1st.  The free event was a thank-you to all who contributed to the CT Scanner ‘Bring TOM to Town Campaign’.

“The day was to thank the community for their generous support,” said Tracy Murray, “but people kept offering cash donations that we didn’t expect.”

Campaign co-Chairs James and Jenny Scongack said that, “In addition to thanking all of you, we know that a successful fundraising campaign doesn’t happen without leadership. We want to thank the all-day, every-day leadership and drive by our Executive Director of the Foundation, Tracy Murray. Tracy was supported by a strong Foundation Board and they encouraged the community to come together to achieve such an amazing goal.”
