International Plowing Match returns to Bruce County for 50th anniversary

The International Plowing Match (IPM) and Rural Expo is returning to Bruce County in 2026. It will mark the 50th Anniversary of the first IPM held in Bruce County in 1976.

The 2026 event will held at the same site as the 1976 IPM, west of Walkerton at the corner of Durham Road and Bruce Road 3.

The last time Bruce County hosted the IPM was in Teeswater in 2008.

Tom Evans, President of the Bruce County Plowmen’s Association and former Canadian Plowing Champion, says  “When people heard about it, the response every time was super-positive and County Council is all behind it coming back to Bruce.”

In a recent media release, Evans also said that a volunteer information night will be held March 8th at the Walkerton Library Hall at 7:00 p.m., as they look to fill several volunteer  positions.

“We are inviting anyone with ideas/ interest/or initiative to volunteer,” added Evans. “There are also many committee positions that need to be filled.

For those who can’t attend the meeting, reach out to  519-379-0821 or email brucecountyipm@gmail.com.

“Let’s come together to make this event a success!” says Evans.
