Saugeen Shores Police Service has received reports of a large black bear being seen in the area of Creekwood Drive in Southampton.
Police advise everyone to be aware of surroundings and to keep children and family pets inside.
They also suggest that bird feeders are removed as they attract bears who, with Spring, are coming out of hibernation and are hungry.
In the past, bears have often been seen in the area, particularly as more of their natural habitat is taken up with development.
