Krystyne Mazur of Krystyne’s Kitchen is passionate about cooking, about nutrition and about health and has returned once again this summer to offer Kidz Cuisine at Southampton United Church.
“I want to bring families back into the kitchen,” she says. “There was a time when the family cooked together and then sat around the table for dinner. With today’s busy lifestyles and schedules, that doesn’t often happen anymore and families are missing out on that special time together.”
Krystyne’s Kitchen cooking classes for kids, Kidz Cuisine, is a testament to the interest that kids have when it comes to cooking. Each summer, her classes offered through the Southampton Art School are filled to capacity with a waiting list. When young people leave her class, they are excited about food and about preparing it.
They also however, learn table etiquette, how to set a table and even how to fold a napkin in many different ways. “Often they take that passion home,” says Krystyne, “and it becomes a new experience for the entire family.”
“I want to thank Foodland from Southampton, Rowland’s Independent Grocer from Port Elgin, the Bulk Barn from Port Elgin and the Southampton Meat Market for supporting Kidz Cuisine through the Southampton Art School,” says Krystyne. ” Their support has been vital in continually allowing me to offer my class through the Southampton Art School.”
