Lamont Sports Park receives major donation from Saugeen Shores Rotary Club

The Lamont Sports Park Illuminating Dreams Fundraising Campaign is pleased to report the confirmation of another major donation.

Saugeen Shores Rotary Club today (Mar. 30) announced a contribution of $100,000 toward the Phase 2 Fundraising Campaign.

The $100,000 donation to the development of Phase 2 of the Park gives the Saugeen Shores Rotary Club twenty-year sponsorship naming rights to the Lamont Sports Park Accessible Playground which is scheduled to be constructed this fall.
Mayor Luke Charbonneau

Mayor Luke Charbonneau said that the Sports Park and new Innovation Park will create a whole new district in the community.  “This will result in a quality of life that our whole community will be able to enjoy for years to come. It’s an exciting development at the south end of Port Elgin for the whole community of Saugeen Shores.”

“The fundraising Committee under co-chairs Mike Myatt and Rob Stanley have been working very hard and I am more confident than ever that we will reach the fundraising goal for Phase 2,” added Mayor Charbonneau, “but projects like this don’t happen without great partners. The splash pad at Rotary Jubilee Accessible Park, Rotary Perkins Park, Rotary Town Hall at the Plex, various other facilities, parks and events, all demonstrate the tremendous contributions that Rotary has made in the community.
