Southampton Legion: A rare story and connection to the James Bond series

Heading into Royal Canadian Legion week, September 17th – 23rd, Jane Kramer, a well known and respected Southampton resident and who has led an exciting life will speak about her father and their connection to World War II.
On Sunday, September 3rd, she will be at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 155 in Southampton at 2:00 p.m. for a special presentation.
Kramer will tell her story about her WWII experiences with her father, Major Paul Winchester.  During WWII, Jane travelled throughout Ontario by train with her father, from one German prisoner of war camp to the next to recruit German double agents.
This is a little known part of Canadiana and is an opportunity to hear how Jane’s father was also connected to Ian Fleming, the author of James Bond, 007.
