Local athletes off to Commonwealth Festival of Lifesaving

Members of the Saugeen Shores Lifesaving Club (SSLC) are about to head off to Leeds in the U.k.

As athletes of the developmental team, they will be taking part in the Commonwealth Festival of Lifesaving in Leeds.  Like most Canadian athletes, they have to fundraise in order to represent Canada and their communities in world events.

On Monday, October 21st Pizza Delight hosted an ‘all-you-can-eat’ spaghetti dinner for the athletes and some local service clubs have stepped forward to lend a helping hand for their travel expenses.

The athletes send a big “… thank you out to our amazing coach Michael Hundt who has brought us to where we are and to coach Cassidy Kazimer.”
