The Southampton Olive Oil Company is donating over $2000 worth of Ultra Premium Extra Virgin Olive Oil to four area food banks.
Staff recently spent time bottling over 100 medium sized bottles of ‘spring crush’ Southern Hemisphere olive oil.
As the store brings in the freshest olive oil from around the world every six months, owners Donna and Dave Rudell have decided to donate some of their existing inventory to make room for new arrivals.
“Certified TRUE extra virgin olive oil lasts approximately 18 months from the time it is crushed, NOT from the time when it is actually bottled,” explain the Rudells.
They also point out that, although Italy has had a poor year of production primarily due to weather conditions, Southampton Olive Oil will not be running out of the high-quality oil that they have become known for. “We source award winning olive oils from various countries around the world and will always have it available in our store,” say the Rudells.
Southampton Olive Oil Company is donating to the food banks in Saugeen Shores, Kincardine, Wiarton, Owen Sound as well as the OSHaRE Meal Program in Owen Sound.
