Local lifesaving club impressive in Nationals competition

Saugeen Shores Lifesaving Club (SSLC) was up against some of the toughest competition from across Canada at the recent Canadian Pool Lifesaving Championship held in Markham, Ontario this past weekend, June 1 and 2 at the Pan Am Centre.

The Club placed an incredible 7th place overall out of 24 teams that included teams from large urban centres and the Canadian Armed Forces.

According to parent Jane Barrett, many athletes had personal bests in their events.  “We also brought home our share of medals including the girls who brought home three silvers for three different relays.”
