In the Christian faith, tomorrow is Good Friday and, in Saugeen Shores, there will be a coming together of several of the ministries of both Port Elgin and Southampton for a combined service.
In Port Elgin (Saugeen Shores) the morning begins at 10:00 a.m. at Port Elgin United Church with the ‘Carrying of the Cross’ walk to Tolmie Presbyterian Church on Goderich Street, where the Good Friday service will take place at 10:30 a.m. and where everyone is welcome.
The service is being offered by five churches, the Anglican Parish of Saugeen Shores, Port Elgin United Church, Southampton United Church, Saugeen Wesley United Church and Tolmie Memorial Presbyterian Churchm with a collaborating choir of vocalists under the direction of Anne Little.
On Easter Sunday, there will also be two Sunrise services. Port Elgin’s service is being held at the Water Tower at 6:15 a.m. while the service in Southampton will be held at 7:00 a.m. at the flag on High Street overlooking Lake Huron.
