Donors for the new Northport Public School playground equipment got the chance to see first-hand what their donations brought and meant to the school students.

On Monday, November 17th, many donors gathered at the school in Port Elgin where they were treated to an appreciation celebration and a performance of the school song.

Thanks to the many donors the playground now has new equipment that includes an accessible swing, an area for outdoor painting, new nets for soccer and many more items. Among the donors were Rotary, Legion Branch 340, the Lions Club, Chantry Island Cham-bettes, the Power Workers’ Union, Square Deal Neil’s, Stow it Self Storage and many individuals and families.
Once the indoor celebration concluded, it was time to head out to the playground to actually see the equipment and that some wanted to try out.

As one of the sponsors said, “The many donations from the wide variety of organizations, businesses, individuals and families proves that it does take a village to raise children and we are so fortunate here that everyones steps up when needed.”
