Local retired police officer honours Nova Scotia officers

Retired police officer, Doug Lein, has been playing “Amazing Grace” on his trombone in his driveway to honour those killed in Nova Scotia.  In particular, he remembers RCMP officer Stevenson who was killed, another officer who was wounded and two Federal Corrections officers who were killed.
“I have been blessed to have survived 44 years policing.  I have been shot at, stabbed at, and almost run down plus other things, but I have survived,” says Lein.  “When an officer is killed in the line of duty, it reminds all of us who protect the public how fragile life is.”
“With COVID-19 and not being able to observe their deaths through funerals, I just felt I had to honour them,” he added.
