Local youth bowlers from the Sunset Family Fun Centre in Port Elgin continue their winning ways after competing at the Ontario Winter Games in Renfrew County.
Eric Berg again represented the region along with teammates Wesley Wyman, Marty Hornbeck, Lucas Phillips, Jordan Miller and Coach George Tugan from the Kitchener area.
The boys fought a hard battle and, after qualifying, defeated the team from the Oshawa area in the Gold medal match.
Berg topped off the weekend by also the winning singles Gold as the top Male bowler in the Province. The weekend was not over however, as he travelled to Brantford to compete in the zone round of the YBC Doubles National Championship.
He was joined by Partner Kelvin Gottschalk and the women’s Team of Raven Hamacher and April Virtue. Both Teams Captured Gold in the Men’s and Women’s division on March 5th in Oakville.
Eric Berg will now go on to represent Ontario at the Youth Challenge Nationals in Winnipeg on March 22nd-26th.
