On Tuesday, April 18th (2023), the Masons presented $1,000 to the Port Elgin Salvation Army Food Bank.
The funds were raised at the Grey Cup and Super Bowl social events held at the Masonic Lodge in November (2022) and February (2023) respectively.
“We know that the Food Bank provides a vital service in our community,” said Mike Harley, Worshipful Master of Port Elgin Lodge No. 429, “and with the rising costs at the grocery store, we wanted to help those who rely on the Food Bank in this difficult time.”
“We are always so appreciative of donations like this,” said Nikki Thompson of the Food Bank, “as it enables us to purchase in bulk items that are most-needed.”
