More stunt drivers charged in South Bruce Peninsula

Canada Day was no celebration for three drivers charged with stunt driving in Bruce County.

On July 1st, Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charged the three motorists, all from outside the area, for stunt driving on Highway 6, north of Wiarton, in South Bruce Peninsula.

All three were charged with stunt driving – 50 kilometres per hour (km/h) or more over posted speed limit, contrary to section 172(1) Highway Traffic Act.

  • A 27 year-old male from Caledon, ON was travelling over 140km/h in a black Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) in the posted 80 km/h zone.
  • A 63 year-old from Markdale, ON was travelling over 135km/h in a silver mini-van in the posted 80 km/h zone.
  • A 25 year-old, from Brantford, ON was travelling over 140km/h in a black SUV in the posted 80 km/h zone.

All three drivers were issued a seven-day driver’s licence suspension and their vehicles were towed and impounded for 7 days.
