Museum hosts Successful Seniors’ program – Chapter 55

One of the most successful programs held at the Bruce County Museum and Cultural Centre was ‘Chapter 55 – Get Ready to Turn the Next Page’ held over 10 weeks.

The variety of programs held each Thursday included cooking, dancing, photography, Tai Chi and Yoga, meditation and drumming, painting and musical jamming and more.

Each fun-filled session was filled to capacity as seniors came out to enjoy the social aspect of the activities and to learn more about areas they may have not been familiar with.

Funded in part by the Federal Government’s ‘New Horizons for Seniors’, the sessions were facilitated by Connie Barker with guest instructors.

It was an opportunity for seniors of all ages to take part in a growing movement of activities directed toward their demographic.

“It has been amazing,” says Connie Barker.  “It just goes to show the vast levels of interests that are there among our seniors.  We only hope this type of programming can continue, particularly, through those months of the year when outdoor activities are limited due to weather.”

Only one session remains on November 22:   Be Part of Your Community: Volunteer Opportunities
