New Saugeen Shores Town Clerk arrives from Township of Wilmot

The Town of Saugeen Shores is pleased to welcome Dawn Mittelholtz as the new Manager, Legislative Services/Clerk.  

Mittelholtz will join the Saugeen Shores staff today, November 10, 2022 and will be formally appointed as the Town Clerk by Council resolution on November 15, 2022.  Her most recent experience was a 16-year career at the Township of Wilmot, where she started as the Deputy Clerk before rising to the Director of Information & Legislative Services/Municipal Clerk.  

“We look forward to Dawn playing a key leadership role at the Town,” said Kara Van Myall, Chief Administrative Officer. “She has proven experience in Legislative Services that will allow her to develop our procedures and ensure the Town operates effectively and efficiently while maintaining transparency and accountability.”

The Manager, Legislative Services/Clerk is responsible for the statutory duties of the Municipal Clerk and advises Council and the Senior Management Team on matters related to municipal policy, procedure, and law. In addition, the Manager is responsible for the day-to-day oversight of the legislative services team, including managing the Town’s Council agendas and minutes, records and licensing, accessibility program, and conducting municipal elections.
