Neyaashiinigmiing hosts several organizations at Cultural Awareness Training Session

The Neyaashiinigmiing Police Service in partnership with the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) recently hosted a Cultural Awareness Training Session.

In August, members of the Neyaashiinigmiing Police Service, OPP, Owen Sound Police Service, Saugeen Shores Police Service, West Grey Police Service, Neyaashiinigmiing Health Centre and Grey Bruce Public Health members attended a cultural awareness training session.

The training session took place in Neyaashiinigmiing at the Kikendaasogamig Elementary School, where participants were greeted by Chief Nadjiwon.

On completion of the training one attendee said, “There is a lot of work we have done but there is a lot more work to be done”.

Neyaashiinigmiing Police Service would like to thank all those involved in making this event a success.

The OPP and others in attendance remain committed to improving relationships with Indigenous communities.
