The Town of Saugeen Shores has made the difficult decision to cancel this year’s Labour Day fireworks display. The fireworks had been postponed from Canada Day.
The decision was made due to the current gathering restrictions of more than 100 people at an outdoor location and the requirements for physical distancing.
Annual fireworks displays in the community usually draw substantial crowds, which could increase the risk of spreading COVID-19.
The Town and the Saugeen Shores Chamber of Commerce encourage residents and visitors instead to explore some of the community’s local businesses this Labour Day weekend and enjoy the variety of outdoor amenities Saugeen Shores has to offer.
