From May 29th to June 12th members of the Saugeen Shores Police Service conducted a traffic enforcement initiative called “Operation Know the Limit”. During this campaign 64 charges for speeding were laid. Officers targeted all areas of the community including “problem areas” that were reported to the police.
In the same reporting period in 2019 officers laid 22 speeding charges. Last August “Operation Slow Your Roll” saw officers lay 75 speeding charges.
Throughout the year our service will engage the community with traffic safety campaigns. These campaigns are directed by our citizens as a result of community feedback, satisfaction surveys and our business plan.
“Keeping Saugeen Shores’ roadways is a service priority. Our next traffic safety campaign in July will target the “Rules of the Road”, says Media Relations Officer, Sergeant Andy Evans.
