OPP officer retires after 33 years

After 33 years of service to the province of Ontario, Constable Kevin Martin is calling it a career. Twenty-three years as a member of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), 9 years with Ontario Hydro and 1 year as a correctional officer at the Stratford Jail. For the past 15 years, he served as the Community Safety and Media Relations officer for the South Bruce OPP detachment.

“I enjoyed working with the residents, businesses, schools, and community groups of Southern Bruce County for the past 15 years. I’m hopeful that you’ll always keep your safety top of mind. I’d also like to welcome Constable Matt Thorpe as the new Community Safety and Media Relations Officer (CSO/CMO) for the South Bruce OPP”.

Constable Matt Thorpe now begins his role as the CSO/CMO for the South Bruce OPP. Constable Thorpe has been with the South Bruce Detachment since February 2017; prior that he worked with Uniform Recruitment at General Headquarters in Orillia.
