It was a perfect summer day as approximately 50 paddlers gathered at the mouth of the Saugeen River in Southampton (Saugeen Shores).
They were there to remember and pay their respects to the First Nations lost children who had been placed in residential schools during what is known as the ’60s scoop’.
The paddlers joined in a circle to listen to testimonies and tiger lily flowers were released into the water in support and remembrance of the deceased children.
