Pet of the Week: Not one but two pets looking for loving homes

This week, there is not one but two opportunities to provide loving homes for two wonderful pets.

First is Otis, a handsome fella’ who is just over one year old, is neutered and vaccinated.  He is a hound cross and weighs approximately 65lb.  Otis is shy and prefers slow, quiet introduction.  This fellow would benefit from someone who can help him build trusting habits and relationships.  According to Shelter staff, he is really well behaved on the leash.  The reason he came to the Shelter is because he did not get along with the previous dog he lived with and would likely be best suited in a single dog home – or with someone who has highly experienced pet management.  Otis is still young however and, with the right opportunity, he will be build his confidence. To meet Otis please call for an Appointment. 519-372-1911.

Next is TIKA.  She is a pretty long-haired kitten approximately 8-9 weeks of age. This little girl is in the Shelter with her two brothers who have already been spoken for. TIKA is also unusual in that she is ‘polydactyl’. She has had her first set of vaccinations, has been dewormed and has been assessed by the veterinarian with a clean bill of health. Please call for an appointment to see this beautiful little kitten.
The shelter also reminds everyone that the Shelter’s charitable store, the Cat’s Meow’ is now open in Meaford. (40 Sykes St., Unit 2 – entrance off Boucher St. south of Sykes).

The shop is full of high quality lightly used items at amazing prices. Our store has everything from entertainment items such as books, games, CD’s, DVD’s to household items and jewelry. The store is staffed and organized by a group of dedicated volunteers.

All proceeds from sales will go directly to the Grey Bruce Animal Shelter to support efforts to find new homes for displaced dogs and cats. Visit our website at www.grey-bruceanimalshelter.com/store for the latest information about the store.

During this period of COVID restrictions, we will only be taking donations by appointment.
