Police issue Public Alert to be aware of distraction thefts

On October 16th, a distraction theft took place in a financial institution at the ATM machine.
Two unknown persons worked in tandem in close proximity to the victim, who was withdrawing cash from the ATM. A distracting tactic was used to obtain the victim’s PIN number and debit card. A large amount cash was withdrawn from the victim’s account by the suspects.
There have been similar reports province wide where thieves are targeting elderly persons.
Suspect #1:
Male, 5’4″, medium build, tan winter coat with hood, red and white touque with maple leaf
Suspect #2:
Female 5’6″, dark clothing, black and white checkered short peaked cap
