Port Elgin Cenotaph ceremony contends with Mother Nature

Mother Nature was not on her best behavior on Sunday, November 11th, 2018 as she pelted the Cenotaph ceremonies in Port Elgin with snow throughout.

Veterans, police, cadets and local politicians all took part in the parade to the Cenotaph                                                                                      Photo by Mike Crossling

Despite the weather however, substantial crowds of people attended the 100th Anniversary of the signing of the Armistice of World War I.

Rev. Chuck Beaton presented a reading and prayers and local high school students performed the Last      Post and Reveille                Photo by Mike Crossling

A special presentation of a memorial wreath was made anonymously honouring those who “Gave Their All”.

Kathryn Eastwood says it is very special and will hang inside Port Elgin Royal Canadian Legion.
