Port Elgin Legion Branch 340 Ladies Auxiliary: Donations continue despite lack of incoming revenue

Wishing you all a Merry Christmas

Port Elgin Legion Branch 340 was shut down in March but the Ladies Auxiliary (LA) held its first meeting in November, with chairs set six feet apart and everyone wearing masks.

“The agenda was full but we got through it. We were able to approve several donations but, with no functions happening and no income coming in, we were limited to who and what we could donate to,” said Commander Vicki Taylor.

The LA donated $1,000 to Branch 340 Legion and $500 to the Cenotaph and also continued to donate to the four Saugeen Shores school Breakfast Clubs.

Members will be advised when there will be having another meeting and there was also discussion on the possibility of holding Zoom meetings.  “If this is something that you would like to do, please let us know,” said Taylor.

“Thank you to members who have paid their dues, much appreciated and cards are being sent to you. Membership fees are due by the end of the year so if you haven’t already paid, please do so. We currently have rour vacancies on our executive that need to be filled; please let us know if you would be interested in serving in this capacity. Stay safe everyone, now that we are in the YELLOW we need to be more diligent to keep this pandemic in check in our area. Please stay safe.”
