Port Elgin Legion Branch 340: March, 2022

Spring is in the air and that means Elections for a new Executive will be happening on April 5th at our General Meeting.

It has been a very difficult time for your Legion Executive. The regular term of office is normally for one year but with the COVID pandemic this time frame has lasted three years. Only this year are we allowed to hold election of officers.

Some of your present Executive wish to step down and pursue other interests and projects and these vacant positions will need to be filled. Of the 400+ members of our Branch, surely we can secure 10 members to accept a position on the Executive.

Yes, it is a little work and a time commitment to attend the TWO meetings each month. Part of your commitment will also be to support the various projects and programs which we are involved with. These fundraising projects are vital to the needs of our veterans, their families, hospitals and the youth in our community.

We also receive requests from other organizations to provide aid financially and all our fundraising efforts need you, the volunteer, to help provide any assistance that we can.

We need new members with new ideas on how to broaden our fundraising efforts and aid in social media to help spread the word. Help is needed.

Please consider letting your name stand for a position on the Executive. Hoping to see you all on Tuesday, April 5th .
