Port Elgin Legion Branch 340: November, 2021

We are finally open again.

On October 25, 2021 the government of Ontario has allowed businesses to fully re-open. Masks are still required when not seated; proof of vaccination and contact tracing is still required to enter.

The District Convention was held in Hanover on Sunday, October 24th and was held in their newly renovated hall. Branch 340 was well represented with 5 Executive members in attendance. A lot of information was shared but the longest topic of conversation was about how nice it is to be able to see our friends face to face and have a good conversation about the past years of COVID and where we are going in the future.

I am proud to say that Branch 340 has received its anniversary certificate for 75 years of service. This was accomplished by our members’ and our Ladiesโ€™ Auxiliary unwavering support over the years. I would like to send a heartfelt thank you to all of our dedicated members and volunteers that made this happen.

Remembrance Day will be here very soon and Cde Alex and his poppy crew were quite busy stuffing the Ad Mail envelopes containing vital poppy information to send to each house in Port Elgin. We still need volunteers to canvas at certain stores in town. Please consider donating a couple of hours to this great cause.
