Port Elgin Rotary Club has made a second $10,000 donation to Huron Shores Hospice as part of their $50,000 commitment, pledged over five years.
In a true sign of the times, the second $10,000 cheque was presented to co-chair, Cheryl Cottrill, over a Zoom video conferencing call, at which time Cheryl provided an update on the hospice plans going forward. The donation is in support of the Hearts for Hospice, Phase II fundraising efforts to bring a second residential hospice bed to south Bruce County.
Steven Dennison, President of the Rotary Club, said Rotary is pleased to support Huron Shores Hospice and the great work they are doing. “We truly believe in their mission to provide quality end-of-life care to residents of south Bruce County. This is a valuable service for our local community and we are proud to contribute ensuring this service is sustainable and help with the efforts to bring a second bed into service.”
Huron Shores Hospice is a charitable not-for-profit, volunteer-led, community-funded residential hospice located at Tiverton Park Manor in Tiverton, providing quality end-of-life care, at no cost, to residents of Saugeen Shores, Kincardine and Huron-Kinloss and surrounding areas. Plans are currently underway to add a second bed to better serve the residents of south Bruce this year.
