Today, September 22nd, the public is invited to the introduction of Tools of the Trades Boot Camp at G. C. Huston school in Southampton at 12:45 p.m.
Throughout the morning ‘Boot Camp’ sessions were held with various union representatives including Plumbers 7 Welders UA527, Ironworkers Local 726, Women in Construction, Canadian Union of Steel Workers, LiUNA Local 1059 Labourers, Boilermakes Local 128 and Millwrights.
The opening ceremony will begin a 1:00 with the Niin epiitendaagzid drummers and welcoming address by Saugeen Shoes Mayor Luke Charbonneau, the Provincial Building and Construction Council and Pat O’Connor representing MP Ben Lobb.
The event continues from 1:30 – 2:30 p.m. with a opportunity for the public to meet with the labour unions in designated classrooms followed by the closing ceremony at 3:30 p.m.
