“It is important for nursing staff to have opportunity to continue our education.” Said Colleen Ouwendyk, RN, Manager, Critical Care and Respiratory. “Support from RBC has allowed me to grow my career into the management role I currently hold.”

“Supporting our local hospitals is important to our employees, our clients and our communities and we are proud to present this $10,000 cheque to Owen Sound Regional Hospital as part of our larger $90,000 commitment to healthcare in local communities,” said Dan Woods, Regional Vice President of Central Shores, RBC. “Since this charitable initiative began in 2009, RBC has donated $780,000 to further the professional development of nurses in Grey, Bruce, Wellington, Perth and Dufferin Counties.”

Last year, funding from partners like RBC Royal Bank, enabled 65 registered nurses and 17 registered practical nurses from across GBHS’ six hospitals to complete specialized education and training in such areas as RPN to BScN Program, mental health certifications, chemotherapy & oncology, cardiac care, perioperative nursing and masters of nursing.
