To the Editor:
I was so pleased to learn that our local Independent grocer was offering paper bags.
After speaking with a couple of cashiers, I was told that in fact people are still preferring the plastic ones. Of course, these paper bags do cost 10 cents more.
Since the average salary in our area is over one hundred thousand dollars, surely we should be able to absorb the cost if we forget our cloth bags or hard plastic bins.
Paper bags were used many years ago to hold kitchen garbage and they can suffice now.
Please choose the paper in an effort to establish a more plastic free world.
