Resident charged with Intimate Partner Violence under Criminal Code

On December 18, 2023, the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to an address in Brockton and initiated an intimate partner violence investigation.

As a result of the investigation, a 22-year-old Municipality of Brockton resident has been charged with the following Criminal Code offences:

  • Spousal Assault – three counts
  • Forcible Confinement – two counts
  • Uttering Threats
  • Domestic Mischief
  • Fail to Comply with Probation – two counts

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Walkerton at a later date.

The OPP will not release names to protect the identity of the victims.
