Rotary and Bruce Power partner to share the bounty of Fall harvest

Fall is the season, when heading into winter, that the bounty of harvest is shared. The Rotary Club of Port Elgin in partnership with Bruce Power, donated 32 huge pumpkin pies to the Saugeen First Nation’s Food Bank.  Thanks to their staff, Erin Kewaquom and Charleen John, the pies were distributed in record speed and into people’s hands within a couple hours.

They are doing great things at the Saugeen Food Bank, which is located on Highway 21 in the old Saugeen Band Council offices.  There are currently 138 folks, plus their families, being served.  The Food Bank is also a depot for some clothing, and with colder weather approaching, coats and socks would be gratefully received.

The Rotary Club of Port Elgin is very proud to support our community and we thank everyone who participates in our events.  Together we are creating better days for our friends, our neighbours, and our families.
