Salvation Army Food Bank thanks the community

We would like to release an appreciation to all the citizens of Saugeen Shores for their tremendous support of those visiting the Food Bank.

We are indebted to our volunteers who give tirelessly of their ‘reward’ years (mostly retired) and extend tender hearts to the friends we serve.

(R) Diane Thorne, who has volunteered with the Food Bank distribution for over 10 years & Pastor Connie Armstrong, who enjoys the brief visits with our friends as we meet ‘over food’.

At this time, we have 20 volunteers balancing the days and times when we see people.

It is such a blessing to us when individuals come to us with groceries that they have just purchased at the store – bought specifically for friends that may need help that day.

Some have come by virtue of ‘young’ kids who chose to think of other children – like themselves.

The organizers of so many Food Drives keep the wheels turning here at the Food Bank.

We are open to receive donations and share an ample portion with our visitors on Tuesdays and Fridays from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.
