Salvation Army food drives helping to fill empty shelves

The local Salvation Army Food Bank is trying to fill the shelves again in Fall and, before heading into Thanksgiving and the winter need.

On Thursday, October 5th, the Food Bank held an in-person food drive at Vanderwerf’s Independent Grocer in Port Elgin (Saugeen Shores).

“The response has been wonderful,” said Nikki Thompson, Director of the local Salvation Army Food Bank, as the van was continually filled. “This community always comes through when needed.”

The next Food Drive is tomorrow, October 6th, at Southampton Foodland.
