Santa stops in Port Elgin after all

For a ‘last minute’ event, the annual Port Elgin Santa parade was impressive as hundreds lined Goderich Street to take it all in.

It was touch-and-go this year after the Chamber made the decision to hold only one Santa parade each year rotating between Southampton and Port Elgin, with 2019 being Southampton’s turn.

The Port Elgin Business Improvement Association (BIA), Pumpkinfest and Port Elgin Rotary had other ideas however, and decided to go ahead with a parade on their own and, once Santa found out, he made sure to arrive.

With barely a week to organize, the results according to many who came out for it and brought their children, “was worth it”.
