Once again, Mother Nature cooperated for the second Saugeen Shores Santa Claus parade following the first one in Port Elgin on November 28th and, despite his busy schedule, Santa made another stop on Friday evening (Dec.4) in Southampton, to the delight of the almost 300 vehicles that passed by.
This year’s parade, like that held in many other communities, was a stationary one where floats stayed remained static as families in vehicles drove by.
A drive-thru parade
Vehicles began lining up on Clarendon Street early, in time for the 7:00 p.m. start. Among those along the parade route were the Celtic Academy dancers, piper Steve Wolfe, Community Band members, the Marine Heritage Society, Firefighters and … more.

Of course, the younger passengers were there for one reason, to see Santa and they weren’t disappointed as Santa aboard his sleigh was the finale of the parade.
