Sauble Beach celebrates winter every year

It was a fun-filled weekend for all ages as Sauble Beach celebrated winter with the 40th annual Winterfest 2019.

From indoor to outdoor at the Sauble Community Centre, there were family activities for everyone.  The two-day event kicked off on Friday at 7:00 p.m. with a parade followed up with the annual ‘Christmas tree burning’ that takes places under the watchful eyes of the Sauble Beach Fire Department.  According to many, there were more in attendance this year than any other in recent memory.

             Git-R-Done sponsored by Nancy’s (Jackson) Sewing have participated for more than 10 yearsEach year, there is the outdoor Diesel Dan Kirkland Memorial” fun road ball-hockey tournament and this year five teams took part.

One of the highlights of the weekend, was the annual baby contest where babies were entered in several categories ranging from sweetest smile to best animal outfit to best clown and wacky hair.  As always, just when you want baby to smile – no way, but it was all in fun.
