The Saugeen Shores Chamber of Commerce held its last ‘after-hours business mixer’ until next Fall, taking a hiatus for the summer.
More than 50 local small-business owners and Chamber members attended the event that was co-hosted by the Bruce County Museum & Cultural Centre and the Marine Heritage Society.
The mixers held monthly and hosted at a different location each time gives Chamber members the opportunity to mix-and-mingle socially while networking their businesses.
Many members also donate prizes for business-card draws that add an element of fun to the events.
The Marine Heritage Society and Bruce County Museum will be partnering for the upcoming Marine Heritage Festival weekend in August with the Museum hosting the Festival’s opening featuring an evening of activities, music and BBQ. It is a weekend of free family fun that includes the famous Marine Heritage ‘cardboard boat races’ at Pioneer Park on Lake Huron, along with pancake breakfast, BBQs, fish fry and the infamous Captain Wayne Sparrow’s search for gold for youngsters.
