Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation presented a cheque for $222,000 to Grey Bruce Health Services (GBHS) in partial payment towards the equipment list for this year.

According to Foundation Executive Director, Tracy Murray, “Part of the donation, in the amount of $150,000 will go towards a new ‘nurse call system’ to be installed in Saugeen Memorial Hospital as the current system is old and becoming unreliable. Staff rely on this system so they can be alerted when a patient is requesting help.”

“This system is an essential piece of equipment in patient care,” added Mary Jo Arnett, Foundation Chair, “therefore, we made it a priority to pay for this purchase so that the system could be replaced as soon as possible.”

Gary Sims, GBHS President and CEO, accepted the donation.  “I am always amazed at the generosity of this community.”
