Grey Bruce Public Health (GBPH) recently announced they would work on a plan to ensure all Grey-Bruce residents have equitable, convenient access to Public Health Ontario’s free well-water testing service. GBPH also said they would consult with local municipalities, businesses, and other partners to develop this plan.
The Town of Saugeen Shores welcomes this development, especially considering residents have been without a local drop-off point since the start of the pandemic. This service is critical to ensuring the health and safety of those families who rely on private well water.
“I want to personally thank the Grey-Bruce Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Ian Arra, for advocating with the province on behalf of our citizens and for exploring potential solutions that are local and specific to our needs. We look forward to offering our input on the GBPH plan, and to informing our residents when the plan is in place,” says Mayor Luke Charbonneau.
