At Monday night’s Town Council meeting (Feb. 25th), Town Council was given a demonstration of the new Town website.
The Town has announced the launch of its new website which includes a fresh look, updated content and re-organized menus, making the most popular pages easier to find.
“Like all internet users, residents of Saugeen Shores expect an up-to-date, easy to maneuver website,” said Mayor Luke Charbonneau. “Our refreshed website provides the most up-to-date information to ratepayers while demonstrating community pride and local amenities to potential investors. We’re proud to see our new website go live.”
The new website is also responsive to mobile devices (smart phone and tablet friendly), boasts a Facilities and Parks module highlighting the location, amenities and status of each facility, and allows for ‘fillable’ forms to support applications, surveys, and more. This feature also allows residents and visitors to report issues on-line using the new ‘Report a Concern’ form which are then prioritized.
Users have the option to subscribe to the website in a number of ways including receiving news notifications, emergency alerts, employment postings and calendar events updates.
“With technological changes and public expectations, it was time to upgrade from our previous website and this project was delivered on time and on budget,” added Mayor Charbonneau. “We have to ensure however, that the site is well-maintained and kept up-to-date in order to avoid a major investment in the future to again overhaul it.”
