Today, August 28th, the Chair of the Saugeen Shores Police Service Board has accepted the resignation of the Chief of Police, Mike Bellai, effective immediately.
“Deputy Chief Kevin Zettel has accepted the role of Acting Chief, also effective immediately, as we ensure continuity in policing for Saugeen Shores,” said Dave Myette, Board Chair.
The Board is currently reviewing next steps as it looks towards the recruitment process.
“The Town of Saugeen Shores will fully support the Police Services Board at this time and throughout the recruitment of a new chief,” said Mayor Luke Charbonneau. “I’d like to thank the former Chief for his contributions to our community.”
