Saugeen Shores Police Auxiliary, with the help of regular officers, were out in force for their annual Salvation Army Food drive at Rowland’s Independent Grocer in Port Elgin.
“The response again this year has been simply amazing,” said Inspector Kevin Zettel. “From bags of food to gift cards and money, people just keep on giving.”
A final total is not yet in for the food drive, the Police Toy Drive held on December 7th, resulted in $1,572 in cash and gift cards of $375 plus six truck loads of toys.
