National PROBUS Month is celebrated in March or April each year by clubs all over the country.
Typically, the Women’s PROBUS Club of Saugeen Shores celebrates PROBUS month with a luncheon meeting, cake, decorations, door prizes and a special guest speaker. Another part of the annual tradition is to bring donations of food or money for the local food bank to their celebratory lunch meeting, and Club members have typically been very generous.
Last year’s PROBUS month party was cancelled at the last minute as COVID-19 hit and everything shut down.
This year, to celebrate PROBUS Month and its generous members, the Women’s PROBUS Club of Saugeen Shores has made a donation of $3,000 to the local food bank. The cheque was presented to Major Connie Armstrong at the Port Elgin Salvation Army Food Bank by Women’s PROBUS Club of Saugeen Shores President, Michele Wake.
