Saugeen Golf Club scored a coup when it garnered the 2018 Senior Ryders Cup Championship held on Friday, September 14th.
It was the first time that the Championship was held outside of the 401 and QEW corridors of southern Ontario.
Many players who came from urban golf courses complimented the course saying it was “one of the best” they had played and that “the greens were superb”, thanks to Superintendent Mike Pellerin.
At the dinner, it was a standing ovation as Ken Dunlop told the teams that there had been 102 volunteers involved in the tournament. “It means a lot that you recognize our volunteers,” said Dunlop, “as this community is full of people willing to donate their time to make events like this successful.”
Lexus of London offered a free car for a hole-in-one during tournament day. Unfortunately, a hole-in-one was shot …. during practice time the day before so – it didn’t count.
