The Chantry Island Cham-bettes Christmas Home of Tours begins tomorrow evening, Friday, November 16th.
Homeowners and designers have been working feverishly throughout the past two weeks to ensure each home is uniquely decorated.
A ‘sneak peek’ into two of the homes indicates the wide variation in design elements.
The Boucher home in Port Elgin is indicative of its owner’s love of colour.
Well-known artist Lorraine Boucher and husband Gerry have worked together to create a Christmas wonderland. Lorraine has decorated indoors while Gerry took on the outside.
“I love Christmas,” says Lorraine, “and decorate as much as possible every year.
With each home differently decorated, Windward in Southampton is a ‘step back in time’ close to Southampton Harbour on Huron Street.
The home is being passionately restored to its historic nature by owner Scott Good whose ancestors have been in Southampton for five generations.
Decor for the home tour is rustic in keeping with the historic atmosphere of the home and those visiting Friday evening of the tour will have the chance to taste fresh homemade gingerbread.
These are only two of the six homes on the tour that begins Friday from 6:00 to 9″30 p.m.
Following the tour on Friday evening, there will be ‘mingling‘ at the Outlaw in Southampton and the Wismer House in Port Elgin.
